What to Read

Love reading? If you like reading and are looking for new books to read then this is the list for you. If you have a favorite genre then you can look at that part of the list. If you want to branch out you can take a look at all the genres. And, if you are new to reading you can look around and see what you are interested in.
Adventure
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson-The book is about Jim Hawkins adventures and his search for treasure.
The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling- Man-cub Mowgli and his adventures with all his animal friends.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams- Earth is destroyed and the only human survivor and his adventures through the galaxy.
Classics
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee– It takes place in the Great Depression and centers on Jean Louise.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen– The book follows the relationship of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy.
The Great Gatspy by F. Scott Fitzgerald- Tells the story of millionaire Jay Gatspy and his pursuit of Daisy Buchanan.
Mystery
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie- People are invited to an island and one by one they die, but who is killing them?
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie- While on a train someone is murdered and the train has been stopped, so who did it and is someone next?
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson- Pip decides to take on a murder that happened years ago.
Fantasy
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K Rowling- A kid learns that he is a wizard and the book follows his first year at Hogwarts.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol- A girl falls down a rabbit hole and ends up in a fantasy world.
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle- A unicorn believes that she is the last unicorn of her kind and tries to discover what happened to the others.
Horror
The Shining by Stephen King- The Torrance family is hired as the caretakers of the Overlook hotel in the winter. Scary things start happening and there seems to be something wrong with Jack Torrance
Cujo by Stephen King- A sweet dog is bitten by a bat and becomes very aggressive
The Long Walk by Stephen King- A bunch of boys get ready for “The Walk” while walking they have to keep up a speed of 4 miles per hour. If they drop that speed they get a warning.
