Advice for Next Year

Margo M., Staff Writer

As the end of the year is rapidly approaching, everyone is or will be thinking about the upcoming school year. So, to help you on your middle school journey, here’s some advice. First of all, remember to keep your backpack organized. I know, you hear that a lot, but it really does make a difference. It may be quicker to shove the worksheet in your pack and leave, but then you have to hunt for 5 minutes for a crumpled worksheet when you need it next. Routinely organizing your backpack makes your life easier. Two, time management is important. Get what needs to be done out of the way. It’s okay to take breaks, so long as a 5 minute break doesn’t turn into an hour. Three, sleep is essential. I know it’s tempting to stay up all night playing video games, but don’t. Lack of sleep equals less focus and attentiveness. Other than that, the most valuable lesson is: enjoy it while it lasts. All too soon you’ll be moving on, so remember to have fun.
