How/Where to Spend Time With Friends During Quarantine

Ever since the outbreak of COVID-19 in March, school has been cancelled and everyone is under stay-at-home orders. Lots of questions have come up like, “How do I spend time with my friends?” or “What do I do with my friends?” These are some ways you can solve these problems.

First, communication. To talk and see your friends and family, you can call from your phone or use video chat apps such as Zoom, Google Hangouts/Meet, and Houseparty. I suggest using a personal gmail as your school email won’t work for these. Since most have already used Zoom and Hangouts for school and work from home, setting up a call will be easy. If you want to play games while chatting, the next few paragraphs will handle that.

Second, games. Many people already play online games with their friends such as Minecraft, Call of Duty, and League of Legends. But if you want to play simple games with your friends while on call here a few:

  1. While playing, you and your friends will take turns drawing prompts while others guess. This game can be quite difficult to play at first, so there is a link to a wikiHow article to help you out at the bottom of this article.
  2. Netflix Party. Netflix Party is a Chrome extension that allows you to have long distance movie-nights with friends. Only one person needs to have a Netflix subscription, so open up Chrome, download the extension, and binge watch your favorite shows and movies with your friends today.
  3. Uno. The classic card game is back, and you can play online. Challenge you friends to endless fun as you reverse, add cards to your opponent, and eventually get uno!
  4. is a FPS game (first-person shooter) that allows you to start private, online matches for you and your friends.

That’s only a few ways you can hangout with friends during quarantine. After reading this article, I suggest doing a little digging to find some other ways to spend time with friends!!
