Many people have that camera laying around, it might be a phone, it might be an old Nikon camera that your dad bought for your mom but now no one is using it. Or, you do photography already and want your picture-taking skills to go to the next level, this article is right for you. Here are some tips for you to up your photo game:

  1. Use the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is when you split the photograph into 9 sections with 4 lines separating the picture into these 9 sections. Place your subject in intersections of the 4 lines. However, as always, there are exceptions to this rule, so photograph carefully.
  2. Use leading lines. Leading lines is a technique in which the viewer’s attention is drawn to lines that lead to the subject.
  3. Shoot through something. This goes with the previous tip, because shooting through two subjects creates leading lines towards the subject, and it gives the picture more depth and makes it more interesting. Know when to use this though, because it can make your photos look unprofessional.
  4. The fourth photography tip is to use different angles to shoot your subject. This plays in with the previous tip, if you shoot through certain angles, you can get a more interesting image. Different angles can also give mood to a photograph, such as when shooting up at a person gives a dramatic effect.
  5. The final tip is to keep your hands steady. Sometimes the only way to achieve this is to use a tripod. This tip is crucial to take good pictures as blurry photos cannot be edited.

If you want to take stunning photos that your friends and family will be stunned at, use these tips to take better pictures. Use the rule of thirds, use leading lines, shoot through something, use creative angles, and eliminate camera shake. Do this to take impressive photos.
