Some people like the rain and other people don’t. For people who don’t, it is often difficult to decide what to do, and the person gets bored. Here are things that you can do to pass time on a rainy day.

  1. Go camping in the great indoors. Tents don’t need to use only outside, and it may serve as a little fort or nook to spend time inside. That brings me to my next point.
  2. Read. Hundreds of studies show that reading is beneficial for the body and your state of mind. Reading is shown to reduce stress, increase memory capacity, and increasing your vocabulary. However, reading should not only be done on rainy days; it should be done every day.
  3. Have an indoor treasure hunt. This is a fun way to pass the time when it is raining outside. Getting your family involved helps bonding too.
  4. Play board games. Playing board games increases brain function and helps people learn to be patient. If you play it with your family, it will also draw you closer.
  5. Sleep. Sleep is very important, especially in the age of a middle schooler. Sleep increases productivity and concentration. It also lowers weight gain risk, promotes a stronger immune system, and is when you grow. For more information, check out the article “Why Sleep?”:
  6. Do arts( including music, sculpting, and drawing) and crafts. Music helps develop the brain and helps stimulate creativity and lets you express yourself. Arts and crafts help further develop fine motor skills, calms the mind, and is therapeutic to some people. Also, next time you have to draw in your class, your art won’t look like you drew with a banana.
  7. Reading is another great way to spend time when it is raining outside.
  8. Learn how to love rain. If you learn how to love rain, you won’t be in a down mood next time water falls from the sky.

If you ever get bored in the rain again, you will know what to do. Follow these tips to help you pass time when it is raining outside.
