On Wednesday, October 30th, the Cope Run Club went to Clement Middle School for a race. They ran against other schools in the RUSD district. Each of the races is separated by grade and gender. The top five racers were each given a medal and there was a team award as well.
For the 8th grade girls, the top five racers were Elizabeth Garcia from Clement, Jade Williams from Beattie, Lena Fischer from Moore, Hannah Kelly from Clement, and Gloria Paez from Clement. The team award went to Clement with 15 points.
For 8th grade boys, the top five racers were Sean Walker from Moore, Matthew Vasquez from Clement, Richard Carlson from Clement, Nathan Wilburn from Beattie, and Jordan Griego from Clement. The team award went to Clement with 25 points.
For the 7th grade girls, the top five racers were Katie Hornung from Moore, Juliana Legaspi from Clement, Aubrie Magana from Moore, Meghan Walker from Moore, and Gabriela Vasquez from Clement. The team award went to Moore with 31 points.
For the 7th grade boys, the top five racers were Frank Rodriguez from Clement, Diego Caldera from Beattie, Franky Morales from Clement, Kallen Gragg from Cope, and Jayson Lopez from Clement. The team award went to Clement with 18 points.
For the 6th grade girls the top five racers were Alyssa Creekmore from Beattie, Natalie Gonzalez from Soar, Zoe Suarez from Clement, Kristen Miller from Clement, and Emily Gill from Beattie. The team award went to Clement with 34 points.
Finally, For the 6th grade boys the top five racers were Ahris Mayorga from Soar, Spencer Martinez from Moore, Joshua Garcia from Clement, Kai Nalu Johnston from Clement, and Gavin Serrano from Beattie. The team award went to Beattie with 39 points.
