Should Middle Schoolers be Preparing for College?

Marlon M, staff writer

Should middle schoolers prepare for college? The answer is not that straightforward. In general, middle schoolers shouldn’t worry too much about college. Doing so would do more harm than good. However, middle school is an excellent time to set up oneself to have the strongest record possible. How be it, this may not be the case with all students. If a student hopes to pursue a specific trade such as cooking, then so be it. If the student hopes to become a technician, then so be it. College isn’t the only way to lead one’s life. There are trade schools available, and one can also go straight into the real world. As stated by Forbes, college is about preparing people for a job and to help people thrive overall, not to hinder one’s hopes and dreams. So all in all, it all depends on the person; I have no right to make such a big decision for students, and I am by no means attempting that. Do what you think is best for you.
