As you katie_leduckymay know, Katie Ledecky is an Olympic swimmer and current record holder in the women’s 400 meter freestyle, 800 meter freestyle, and the 1,500 meter freestyle.  Furthermore, she is a five-time Olympic gold medalist and a nine-time world champion.  Katie Ledecky was in the Olympics in London, four years ago.  In these Olympics, she set the world record for the 800 meter freestyle in 8 minutes and 14.63 seconds.  But, on August 7th, 2016, during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, one thing changed.  During the 800 meter freestyle, Katie Ledecky broke her own world record in 8 minutes and 4.79 seconds.  The runner-up, Jazz Carlin of Britain, was behind Katie Ledecky by 11.38 seconds.  Jazz Carlin clocked 8 minutes and 16.17 seconds.  She also knocked nearly 2 seconds off the world record in the 400 freestyle.  In this year’s Olympics, she medaled gold on the women’s 200, 800, 400, and 4×200 freestyle relays and medaled silver in the women’s 400×100 freestyle relay.  Katie Ledecky is an astounding swimming prodigy that never stops pushing toward being the best.
