Lia S., Staff Writer

For those of you who do not know, our old principal, Angela Neuhaus, announced her retirement on August 23rd, 2019. Now it is September 6th, 2019 and we have a new principal, Mr. Cullen. He recently was interviewed by Lia of the Cope Journalism team. Here is the record.

Question 1: How long have you been working at RUSD?

Mr. Cullen: “36 years.”

Question 2: Have you ever been a principal at any other schools?

Mr. Cullen: “Mckinley Elementary, Moore Middle School, Cram Elementary, Island Grove Elementary, Redlands East Valle Highschool, Redlands Highschool, Cope Middle School. All of those were subs. I used to be the Assistant Superindentent of Educational Service at RUSD.”

Question 3: Do you know how long you’ll be here?

Mr. Cullen:  “4-6 weeks until your new principal is here.”

Question 4: “What are some hobbies of yours?”

Mr. Cullen: “I am into woodworking, right now it is making American flags out of wood. I usually give them away rather than selling them.”

This interview helped clear up some questions and also gave an inside on the fun side of our new principal, Mr. Cullen.
