Have you ever had a teacher that assigns a drawing assignment? Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw something other than sad stick figures? We’ve all been there. Even famous artists like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci didn’t start as amazing artists. Here are some great tips for drawing and painting!

1. Always draw a skeleton. Some of the worst drawings start with terrible anatomy structure. When you sketch out the body, put circles on the shoulders, knees, and elbows. This will allow you to draw any pose using your newfound joints.

2. Make sure to add a jaw! If you have a circle for the head, draw a semi-circle under the circle. The semi-circle and the circle need to touch.

3. Remember that proportions are always necessary. One arm can’t normal and one arm can’t be the length of a crocodile’s tail. Mentally measure both arms and see if they are the same length. In short, these three tips are crucial when drawing, realistically or in your style. If you use these, you are setting yourself up for a path of success.
