Contact Lenses to Fix Color-Blindness

Lorelei A., Staff Writer

28-year-old Gabrielle Masone has invented a way for those who are color-blind to avoid wearing bulky tinted glasses: contact lenses that do the same thing but better. In 2017, Masone originally founded Colorsmith Labs Inc. with the goal of developing the lenses in mind, and she has now finished a prototype, with the help of scientists from St. Mary’s University, that will soon be tested on humans. The main purpose behind the making of this product is to help make life just a tiny bit easier for the people that are colorblind and hopefully reduce the annoyance that the previously mentioned tinted glasses induce. This innovation may just make life much more efficient for everyone if developed to do so.
