This Sunday, February 10th, the 61st annual Grammy Awards were held at the Staples Center in the not-so-distant city of Los Angeles. The ceremony was hosted by the ever-soulful Alicia Keys, who has won five Grammys of her own, out of a total of sixteen nominations. Only a few of the many awards given out include the following: Kacey Musgrave’s “Golden Hour” for Album of the Year, Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and Dua Lipa as Best New Artist. The night had already started out with a bang when former First Lady, Michelle Obama, as well as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Jada Pinkett Smith joined Keys onstage. Diana Ross went on to celebrate her 75th birthday in the middle of the show, and it was all wrapped up into one wonderful night with a tribute to Aretha Franklin performed by Andra Day, Yolanda Adams, and Fantasia Barrino. This year’s Grammy Awards was certainly an evening to remember.
