Rain can bring much-needed water, but water in large amounts can destroy communities and change landscapes.  Burn areas from the Woolsey Fire and other fires during summer and fall are in jeopardy.  Large quantities of rain can cause more damage than the fire did: mudslides.  People all over Southern California are preparing themselves with sandbag after sandbag.  Roads all over the region are also being closed for the duration of the rain.  So while rain can bring hardship for many, this required water is necessary to bring our drought to a close.
