Hello, hello, Cope eagles! Is anyone else excited for this month’s F.B.O.T.M. (Featured Book of the Month, for unseasoned F.B.O.T.M. readers)? I know I am! Without further ado, this month’s F.B.O.T.M. is Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. For those of you who don’t know who Cassandra Clare is, she is the author of not only one, not two, but three book series, as well as a few stand alone novels. She wrote the trilogy of books titled The Infernal Devices, along with the series The Mortal Instruments, and her almost-completed trilogy The Dark Artifices. The last installment in this series will be coming out on December 4, and, as a tribute to the end of this series, I chose Lady Midnight as this month’s F.B.O.T.M. to honor it. Anywho, let us get into the real reason you’re reading this. The actual book.

Basically, to summarize this book, Lady Midnight is about these teenagers who fight evil demons trying to kill them. They have these special runes (or Marks, as the Shadowhunters call them), which give them abilities or help them fight the demons. The main characters, Emma Carstairs and Julian Blackthorn, are best friends. Throughout this book, they fight these demonic presences while also trying to navigate living the life of a Shadowhunter. This book is a good read, although a bit longer than other books, and is sure to bring lots of laughter (and maybe a few tears) to your person. Have a wonderful rest of your day, eagles!
