US vs. UK

Is it called chips or fries? Biscuits or cookies? The UK and the US have different words for the same thing. If someone from the US says “apartment,” someone from the UK will say “flat.”

We say airplanes; they say aeroplanes. We call it subway; they call it underground, or tube. Our jacket is their jumper. Our garbage can is their dustbin. What we call soccer is what they, and the entire world except for us, call football. We say sneakers; they say trainers.

These are only a few words people in the UK and the US say differently. Can’t you believe that? No wonder we are so different from each other. Even our vocabulary is different.
