On October 7, SpaceX launched the Falcon 9 and its first half’s landing makes history in California. At 7:21 pm SpaceX launches Falcon 9 from Vandenberg Air Force Base and marks a first as its first stage splits off and lands back at base. At lift off anyone close was able to hear a sonic boom. Everyone’s eyes were tracking the satellite. In a matter of minutes, the first half of the shuttle split off. Just as people thought that the launch was done, everyone saw the bright light of the first stage of the satellite zooming through the air and landing right back from were it came. This launch marked a big step for NASA’s shuttles.
