The Redlands Unified School District has decided on something huge for Redlands’ middle schools. For the first time in 31 years, RUSD middle school students can once again experience the joy of being on their school’s sports team! The athletics meeting was on Friday September 28th, 2018. Students can participate in sports such as soccer during the 3rd quarter of this school year, and basketball during the 4th quarter of this school year. Volleyball and softball will be available next school year. Students from all grade levels may join these activities, but they must complete middle school athletic clearance/participation packet before they try out for the teams. Students are required to have a 2.0 GPA and good behavior in their classes to be eligible. Each sport will have a girls team and a boys team. Practice will be after school at 3:30, and the games for each sport will be played during the school week at 3:15. The only game that will not be played during the school week is the final game of the season. The season for each sport  will last nine weeks and will include eight games. Any students who enjoy these sports should consider taking advantage of this great opportunity!
