Feminism, Not Misandry, Not Misogyny

Jimin K., Staff Writer

Feminism: the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the genders.

Misandry: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men.

Misogyny: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.

People often get confused with the term feminism. People might say, “I hate feminists because they are not fair.” Feminism is advocating for the equality of everyone: men, women, everyone of color, etc. Unfortunately, people think that feminists are the enemies. It is the fake feminists who are the enemies. Be aware that there is a large difference among feminism, misandry, and misogyny.
