Speeding Across the Salt Flats-On a Bicycle

Annika N., Staff Writer

Denise Mueller-Korenek, a 45 year old US woman, broke the world record for the speed of cycling across land on September 5th while cycling at 183.932 miles per hour. Mueller was pulled on a tow line until she reached 100 miles per hour. She was helped by riding in the slipstream of a dragster, driven by Shea Holbrook, professional racecar driver. Since Mueller crushed both the women’s and men’s world records, there are many calling for Guinness World Records to become gender-unspecific. Watch out in the future for more incredible feats by this amazing woman!
