We all know the story.  On September 11th, 2001,  two hijacked airliners crashed into the World Trade Center.  Another hijacked plane crashed into and damaged the Pentagon.  A fourth plane was headed towards Washington D.C., until passengers bravely fought off the hijackers and crashed the plane in a field in Pennsylvania.   But why do we commemorate this event?  Besides the ten billion dollars in damage, the attack killed over 3,000, injured over 6,000, and killed 343 firefighters and 72 policemen.  9/11 was a horrible event, but it reminds us to never let this happen again.
