At the beginning of the year, everyone was favoring the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series, and they’re living up to the expectations. It’s been over one hundred years since they’ve made it to the playoffs, and yet they currently have the best record in, not just the NL Central, but all of baseball. But there are some other things to factor in. Since Buster Posey joined the San Francisco Giants in 2010, the team has won every even year World Series. 2010, 2012, 2014, and maybe, just maybe, 2016. Next week, they will face the Cubs in a series to determine which one stays. If the Giants lose, they’re out. If the Cubs lose, then same to them. Also, San Francisco frequently pulls rookie surprises out of a hat. Last year, Joe Panik was an amazing hitter. This year, rookie pitchers are doing extremely well, and it’s rumored that one may open against the Cubs. While many in this area favor the Dodgers, and they made it into the playoffs, they have never been expected World Series winners. Overall, the Giants and the Cubs are the two teams most likely to win the World Series. Unfortunately, it is literally impossible for them to play against each other. UPDATE: The Cubs beat the Giants and the Giants are now, unforunately, out of the playoffs until next year.
