Ways to Keep Up Your Grades

Sarah M., Staff Writer

With spring break just around the corner, some people’s grades are starting to drop. Here is a way to get them back on track.

  1. Make a schedule: Making a schedule will help to keep you organized so that you don’t forget your assignments. One way of making a schedule is to have all the days of the week and put when your assignments are due so you know when you need to get them done. Another way is to plan your days in advance so that you don’t forget about your assignments. Lastly you can have post-it notes on your desk with your plans for the day and when you are going to get things done.
  2. Study: Studying will prepare you for tests and make sure that you are ready. Studying will also keep subjects fresh in your mind so that you don’t forget what the test or quiz is about. Some ways to study is to take notes and look over them, once you think you have things down have someone quiz and see how you do. Also there are different study websites such as Quizlet and Khan Academy.
  3. Don’t procrastinate: Procrastinating can cause stress and can make it to where your assignments are built up and you don’t end up doing them. Making time for assignments and not waiting until the last minute to do them will make your work better and give you less stress. Pinning Post-its to a bulletin board or writing on a whiteboard or notepad is a great way to keep a reminder to yourself not to waste time.
  4. Pay attention in class: A big part of keeping your grades up is paying attention to the lesson. It will make doing homework and tests a lot easier and less stressful.
  5. Do your best: If you try your best then you will get a better outcome of tests and homework. If you don’t try at all then eventually your grades might start to drop.
  6. Relax: Homework can be stressful, so while you work have something calming in the background. Whether it be music, a podcast, or nature sounds. Whatever is relaxing can help you do better on your assignments.

In the end, you just need to find the things that work best for you and incorporate them into your routine.
