Thank You Mr. President

February 12, 2021
We have a three day weekend coming up and you may be wondering why. The reason is it is Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 15th. Presidents’ Day is in honor of George Washington’s and Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. One fun fact is that the first Presidents’ Day was in 1885. Another fun fact is that George Washington’s birthday is actually the 22nd of February. Also Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th. Thanks to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln we get to have a three day weekend, so enjoy and relax.

Loved your article on the celebration of President’s day! I know it’s been a while since you wrote it but I thought you might be interested to know that GW actually has two official birthdays!! Long story short – he was actually born on February 11, 1732 but his birthday was actually moved to February 22 in 1752 when he was twenty. The reason was that Great Britain adopted the Gregorian calendar that is the one we use today based on the solar year – 365 days plus one day added each time the year was divisible by four (Leap Year)!!
